What's Next?

What's next

Existing market

Step 1
I believe that what is next will be a service that will allow visually impaired individuals to receive training in specific professional situations. For example, recently the University of Florida started to offer a class on table etiquette . This class is focused on table etiquette in business meeting environments, because as of late businesses are choosing to have meetings in a less formal way. I would love to create training courses to help blind individuals with this skill and so many others.

Step 2
After interviewing two people that are currently a part of this market, they both expressed wanting to see this organization address the issue of people believing that totally blind parents cannot raise children.

After I told them about my idea to provide professional training to visually impaired people, they were pretty intrigued. Both of them young blind parents, and they thought that their spouse could really benefit from these training.

Step 3
Over all I do believe that the future can definitely include the creation of professional training, but I do not believe that I will include the advocacy for blind parents just yet.
I do believe that the advocacy of blind parents does need to be addressed, but I am not sure if that is the market that I planned to exploit.

New Market

Step 1
The new market that I plan to exploit
is the exact opposite of the one I am currently targeting. Instead of the ambitious  visually impaired people, I will be targeting the visually impaired individuals that see their disability as something that will always be in the way of them succeeding in life.

Step 2
I think that my venture concept can help the people in this new market by helping them build confidence, and showing them that they can literally learn anything by implementing the growth mindset in their life.

Step 3
After interviewing a few people from my new targeted market and explaining to them my new service idea their responses were mixed. One of the interviewees told me that he would benefit a ton from a service like this, but he stated that it is easier said than done. The second individual told me that society would never except someone like her, so because of that there is no point in creating a service like this. They did not give me very much feed back on how I can improve these ideas, but after talking to both of them I did come up with some ideas of my own. I believe for this to work I will need to bring in some major counseling, so we can help these individuals grow in their self esteem, confidence, etc.

Reflection
This new market is no where as attractive as my original targeted market. It seems that I am almost having to force this new market to want to grow. Instead, the original market were eager  to make a difference.
